Dear Cancer Nursing Colleagues,
On behalf of the Conference Management Committee of the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), I invite you to attend the International Conference on Cancer Nursing 2020 (ICCN 2020) in London, UK! ISNCC is thrilled to be hosting the meeting at Imperial College, near Hyde Park in London. We also are especially pleased to have our colleagues from the United Kingdom Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS) as our regional partner and local hosts.
The theme for the conference is “Innovation and Inspiration: Celebrating the Global Impact of Oncology Nurses.” This is a most appropriate theme as 2020 has been designated by the World Health Organization Executive Board as “The Year of the Nurse.” The meeting will focus on all aspects of oncology nursing and our ability to impact patients, families, communities and nations through clinical practice, education, health policy, leadership and research. Through scholarly discourse, networking and collaboration among oncology nursing educators, practitioners, researchers, and leaders from across the globe, we will showcase the remarkable work and dedication of nurses involved in cancer care.
The Conference Management Committee, with members from around the world, is planning a program to expand your knowledge, develop new partnerships and collaborations and enhance your ability to provide quality cancer care. While at ICCN 2020, I hope you will take the opportunity to network with other cancer nurses, nurse researchers, educators and students, share new experiences and information, and make and renew friendships. The meeting offers a wide variety of educational opportunities including pre-conference programs, plenary speakers, oral presentations, instructional sessions and poster sessions as well as social and cultural events. I invite you to enjoy this unique opportunity to meet and collaborate with international cancer nurses from all over the world.
I am particularly delighted to welcome you to the fabulous city of London! It is truly one of my favorite places to visit and is an exceptional city in which to hold our conference. There are so many opportunities to enjoy yourself in and around London (after conference hours, of course!). Since 2020 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, a visit to the Florence Nightingale Museum at St. Thomas’ Hospital might be in order, or a trip to Covent Garden for shopping and great meals. There are numerous museums, the theater parks, and, of course, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and Westminster Abbey, so plan to come early and/or stay on after the conference.
Welcome to ICCN2020 and the wonderful city of London! I look forward to seeing you!!
